The railroad built on the old Tehran-Qom path, between Eslamshahr and Prandak, which has been around for 70 years, is consisted of about 200 railroad bridges designed for a 20-ton load. With over 70 years of age, the bridges have suffered damages that had to be repaired. In addition, due to the new standard of Iranian Railways for axial loads of 25 tons, it was necessary to increase the resistance of the bridges trough increasing the axial loads of the passing trains in order to improve the alignment with other railroads.
